Major Achievements at Highland Elementary School

Highland Elementary School prepares children for lifelong success through challenging academic program and activities that build students’ self esteem and respect for themselves and others.

• For three consecutive years, Highland students have met and surpassed the growth target set by the State of California on the Academic Performance Index-meaning that they are up to the academic challenge, so all students can succeed.
• Highland has received awards in 2008 and 2009 from the California Business of Education Excellence as an Honor Roll school.
• The state has also recognized Highland as a Title I Academic Achievement Award School for the pass two years in 2008 and 2009.
• This recognition identifies Highland as a school that closes the achievement gap; where all subgroups are making progress as shown on the California Standards Test.
• Our partnerships with businesses, PTA, and other colleges help promote excellence in our school.
